Kent Woolly Earedlist by Andy Forbes
Kent Woolly Eared is a white winter wheat originating in the counties of Kent and Essex near London. It has a relatively long ear with furry or velvet chaff. In 1753 Ellis in his book of Farm Husbandry when reviewing the wheat grown at the time stated the typical London loaf of the time was a third Red Lammas with two thirds Kent Woolly Eared. Please noteThe majority of genebanks are committed to providing small samples of genebank material for purposes of research and education on request (usually via their website) usually for free, usually between 5g and 10g per accession requested. However response time and quality of sample sent can vary between genebanks.
