Remark: From letter of E.R. Sears 5/12/1966: I am fairly sure that it was originally obtained from the Univ. of Saskatchewan by Luther Smith in 1932, and I doubt that there were very many Chinese varieties in circulation at that time. It may be identical to CI 6223. See also Cereal Research Communications 13:261-263, 1985 for a discussion of the history.
