Zimbabwe (developed)
Combination of Crosses Involving Short Strawed Selections of Norin-10 Brevor, Mara, and Angolian line X2-50 GRIS {Norin-10 / Mara, ITA // Angolan X-2-50} PEDIGREE
synonyms = GRIS {OLESONS-DWARF; OLESEN-DWARF
; OLSEN-DWARF
; OLESEN; OLSEN; OLESON; CB-67; MT-37; S-948; S-948-A-1;
}
other # = Olesen’s Dwarf; Olesen; CI 14497; ; GRIS{K-48218,59193; CI-14497; AFRC-3621,7180}
Remark: A short, bearded wheat which grows approx. 1 foot tall. Flowering is generally initiated in the boot. The dwarfing characteristics appear to be dominantly inherited since crosses between Olesen and tall US varieties are dwarfed. Olesen tramsmits chlorotic leaves in F2 populations and many F2 selections will have shrivelled seed. History: DEVELOPED Zimbabwe by Edwards, I., Salisbury Research Station. DONATED 12/1968 by Roberts, B., USDA-ARS
