Daws*2 / Triple Dirk Vrn-1 // 5*Daws
other # = 99CF 405; 02CF 53
Remark: BC6 F5:8 near-isoline (NIL) of Daws having VRN 1 allele for spring growth habit derived from Triple Dirk VRN 1 NIL. Daws is a common soft white winter bearded white chaff semidwarf (Rht2) cv with large kernels (42mg). NIL phenotypically similar to Daws. From fall-planting NIL is similar to Daws for heading date, plant ht., test wt., % stand, kernel hardness, kernel weight, % protein, sedimentation value; NIL has grain yield > Daws (>11%). From spring planting NIL values were less than fall-sown values for plant ht. (< 20%), grain yield (<23%) and test wt. (<20g/L). Compared to spring check cv Alpowa NIL heads 8d later and has comparable grain yield. History: DEVELOPED Washington, United States by Allan, R., USDA-ARS
