Soft red winter wheat. Developed by a modified pedigree method of breeding with plant selection made in the F2, F3, F4, F5, and F7 generations. High-yielding, late maturing, semi-dwarf, and awned. One day earlier than Saluda in maturity. Excellent test-weight and straw strength. Excellent resistance to biotypes E, G, M and O of Hessian fly (Mayetiola destructor) and leaf rust (Puccinia recondita) gene Lr24 and Lr26. Resistant to powdery mildew except for the virulance to Pm8. Soft milling and baking quality rated excellent.
