Remark: In 1915 a sample of the variety was included in the Australian exhibit at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition at San Francisco. The Sperry Flour Co. tested this and several other varieties at their experiment station near Stockton, CA. Bunyip was selected as the most promising and increased and distributed for commercial growing in California.
