It provides excellent protection to stem and stripe rust, powdery mildew, SBMV, and WSSMV. It provides very good protection to leaf rust, Septoria nodorum and take-all, Rhizoctonia, and tan spot. Cherokee has no known genes for Hessian fly protection. It is adapted to the upper mid-south and eastern soft wheat region.
